Dr. Richard T. Ferro, MD, CAQSM
Dr. Ferro graduated Summa Cum Laude from Princeton University in 1988, and is the owner and Medical Director of Carolina Care Urgent Care and Sports Medicine. Dr. Ferro was the Head Medical Team Physician for Duke University, and the founder and Director of the Duke Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program for Duke University Medical Center.
He has been an educator of other physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students and fellows for many years. As an expert speaker for several societies, Dr. Ferro has lectured for lots of organizations and communities across the nation. His topics have ranged from acute illnesses and common conditions that are seen and treated in an Urgent Care, to advanced musculoskeletal injuries and sports related topics, including performance enhancement techniques and ergogenic aids used in athletics.
Since stepping down as the Head Medical Team Physician and the Director of the Duke Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, Dr. Ferro has been specializing in Urgent Care medicine, and continues to utilize his expertise in Sports Medicine and Urgent Care to provide superior care to all of his patients.
